A Legacy of Flavor

A Family Tradition Since 1952

Since 1952, we’ve been serving up authentic Mexican flavors made from scratch with family pride. Generations later, the tradition continues with the same dedication to quality.

Our Story Begins

In 1952, Adolph and Louise Perez had a dream of owning a Mexican restaurant and opened El Sombrero in East Moline. At that time, Mexican food wasn’t widely known in the area, so they took a bold step in introducing their innovative fare to the community.

A Legacy Perfected

Over the years, Adolph and Louise reinvented their business several times, perfecting their recipes and experience until it became Adolph’s Mexican Foods. Adolph retired from the business in 1996 at the age of 85, and Louise continued working in the restaurant until her passing in 2007.

Family Tradition Continues

Today, Adolph and Louise’s children, John Perez and Leslie Carter, proudly carry on the family tradition — a legacy of authentic flavor and family values that continues to define Adolph’s Mexican Foods.
